Songbird Media Player.
Asa says that Songbird’s first public release is available. But when I tried to go to the site, it was down. Bummer.
For those of you who don’t know Songbird is a new open source iTunes/Windows Meda Player type application built on a Mozilla foundation.
I am really looking forward to using it. I have never found a media player that I have been really happy with, and Mozilla-type software never fails to impress me, so I have very high hopes and expectations.
Check out TechCrunch for screen shots. Very clean looking. Also, according to TechCrunch (since I can’t get on the Songbird homepage), the initially supported file formats will be MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, FLAC and others. Also, a Mac and Linux version will come soon.
