i’m very exited about intaling ubuntu and beryl!!!
But i don’t know are there any games that will work on linux OS…I have plenty games and it will be a shame not to play them just because that cool desktop looks…
Can someone tell me will the games like crysis work on LINUX???

i have a pentium III@1000 Mhz mobile, ATI Radeon mobility with 16 MB video and 256 MB RAM- and beryl work`s fine… on 512MB RAM and 1700 Mhz and 64 MB will work verry well…but you have to configure xorg.conf. good luck.bye.

I’ve had some problems with my config of ubuntu and beryl, first time i installed beryl it worked fine, but then later on the desktop wouldn’t rotate, all sounds have vanished and nothing works as it should, and i can’t configure my wireless lan =(

Yeah Beryl shure is pretty. But installing it isn’t hard. Just open up Synaptic and search for Beryl. That’s what I did. Simple as hell really.

hey i got simple effects in fedore core live 6 i believe its due to xgl cuz i have intel graphics card and i m dying to run beyrl so i was wonder if you right a little step by step tutorial for your readers :).

thanks hogg but i don’t have beryl live cd i have ubuntu and suse live cd’s and my sound card is not working under them.
its been years i always wanted to have fully functional system running linux but sometime modem don’t get detected some times lan don’t get configured and sound card the mighty one bring tears into my eyes.

this is my sad story with linux as a newbie.

All I can tell you is that there is only one way to find out: try it. From what I have read, Beryl is supposed to work on older and lower-end machines, but I’ve only tried it on my own PC, so I honestly don’t know.

But, if you do try it, let me know how it goes.
