New Gmail features: Vacation auto-response and Contact groups

Filed under: e-mail, Free Hogg, Google — Hogg @ 3:10 pm

Gmail continues to lead the pack in web-mail as the geniuses over at Google rolled out two new excellent features: an auto-response that you can use if you go out of town or are without internet access for a while, and the ability to organize and send mail to groups of your contacts.

Vacation auto-responder
Set an auto-response so that if you’re lying on a beach or taking a train across Siberia, your friends will know you won’t be checking your email.

Contact groups
One of our most-requested features is finally here! Now you can send messages to a group instead of having to pick out the individual addresses every time.

Speaking of vacation, finals are over and I am headed home for a couple weeks. I should have plenty of internet access, but I don’t know what my schedule is going to be like. So, the posts should continue to come, but if they don’t, that’s why.

I hope everybody has an awesome Christmas, and let’s not forget the real reason that we’re celebrating.
