Reading makes you smarter. Use LibraryThing.

Filed under: Books, Web Apps — Hogg @ 11:11 am

Well, I can’t prove that or anything, but I am on a reading kick lately and it’s been awesome. I can’t remember the last time I just sat down to read just because I wanted to, but I’ve already finished one book and have started another one.

There is a (free but upgradable for a price) web service called LibraryThing that you can use to catalog, tag, and share your books. They also have a feature for adding a widget to your blog which is pretty cool. LibraryThing also provides recommendations based on what books you own, your tags, etc.

You can see my catalog (it’s partially complete) here (my user name is “hogg”) and feel free to share your books/catalogs with me.

I just got done reading Bleachers by John Grisham, and now I’m reading Wild at Heart by John Eldredge. If you are a former high school football player, you should definitely read Bleachers. And I recommend Wild at Heart for everyone. It’s target audience is Christian men, but I think it would be great for women too and anyone who is interested in checking out who Jesus really is.
