Free Hogg


Google’s Picasa is available for Linux.

Picasa is arguably and in my opinion the best free photo management software available. So if you take any digital pictures whatsoever, you need this program.

I found out today via Digg that Google has now made their awesome photo software available for Linux users.

It comes in several ready-to-eat packages such as rpm, deb, and bin for your installing convenience.

Picasa for Linux takes advantage of the WINE and Mozilla open source projects.

I was unaware of this, but Google has been in kahoots with CodeWeavers since January fixing up WINE so that Picasa would work correctly.

It’s great to see a huge company like Google working with already great open source projects.
